Novi Fosili’s Kad vas molim shows a time and place – Croatia in the 80s – when you were a rock star if your band had a pretty singer and access to a camera. But one of many fun things about classic Novi Fosili is that it looks so much like demos that garage bands, listening to Pavement and Shonen Knife, put on YouTube this year. The production quality is about the same – bribing JRT officials (or whatever they did) for studio time in 1987 roughly equals borrowing iMovie off your mom’s iMac in 2009. May we ever remain in Croatia in the 80s.
